Solicitors sometimes employ financial advisers to give advice on insurance policies. If
you were the victim of a mis sold endowment policy by a solicitor after 30 November 2001 then
the Financial Ombudsman Service has jurisdiction and can deal with an endowment compensation claim.
For any policies sold by solicitor agents prior to that time then the
regulations of the law societies for England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland
apply. If your complaint or claim for compensation is refused by the solicitors firm that
gave the advice then an approach should be made to the relevant law society which has
limited powers to order compensation even if your complaint is upheld.

Compensation is calculated by comparing the paid interest, as well as the premiums and current surrender value of your endowment policy, with the capital repayments and mortgage interest the claimant could have paid on an alternative repayment mortgage and how much of that capital could have been paid off the mortgage. If your policy has grown to be worth more than the capital you would have paid off with an equivalent repayment mortgage and you have received no negative financial affects then you will not be eligible for compensation.
Half a million people have been compensated so far and there are millions more people who suffer from the consequences and shortfalls of the plan that are yet to make a claim for compensation. We will give guidance and advice on what steps can be taken to recover financial losses no charge.
We are a founding member of the Claims Standards Council which is independent from the claims industry and seeks to ensure that that its members deal with consumers on the basis of decency, probity and fairness by :-
- vetting individuals and organisations seeking membership
- compliance with a transparent, thorough, end-to-end process for handing claims
- operating independent complaints and discipline arrangements
We deal with mis sold endowment claims on a no win no fees basis and if the complaint is unsuccessful we will not make any charge to you. Our claims are completely risk free and you will not have to fund or pay for any expenses during the course of the claim. Our clients never pay any charges unless the claim is settled successfully.
